Terms and Conditions

Please note: these Terms and Conditions may change from time to time. Current clients will be notified of any changes. New or revisiting clients are advised to check this page before booking any appointments.

Canine Behaviour Consultations

A booking deposit of £40 is required to secure and finalise an appointment booking date and time for a Canine Behaviour Consultation. This will be requested following an initial telephone discussion in response to a client request for canine behaviour advice. If the deposit is not received within 48 hours of booking the appointment then the appointment time will be offered to someone else. Once received by Best Behaviour the deposit is non-refundable if the client then fails to attend the appointment without formally cancelling the it.

If the appointment is booked and secured and a cancellation is unavoidable (i.e. the client is physically unable to attend the appointment due to unforeseen circumstances) the client must notify Best Behaviour no later than 24 hours before the day of the appointment. Clients will then be given one option to reschedule the appointment. If the client fails to attend the new rescheduled appointment then the booking process begins again with the need to make a new appointment and pay a new booking deposit. The deposit for the failed appointment will not be refunded.

Remainder of the consultation fee must be paid on the day of the appointment by cheque or cash.

If Best Behaviour feel it necessary to cancel a client appointment, the deposit will either be refunded or an alternative appointment date and time will be offered.

The fee (as described in the list of Prices) for a Canine Behaviour Consultation includes the following service:

  1. A one-hour appointment at the Canine Mind and Body Balance Therapy Centre.
  2. A one-hour home visit.
  3. Written summary of discussion and exercises for clients to keep and refer to.
  4. One follow up telephone call.

Following the Canine Behaviour Consultation and follow up telephone call, unlimited extra one to one sessions can be arranged. They will take place at the centre or at the client’s home and are priced accordingly (see Prices).

Additional travelling costs may be necessary for home visits at a distance above a ten-mile radius of the Canine Mind and Body Balance centre. This will be made clear at the initial telephone call.

Puppy Socialisation and Puppy Life Skills Classes

Puppy Socialisation classes are in two parts consisting of one hour a week for two weeks. Puppy Life Skills classes consist of four weekly one-hour classes. They both take place at Canine Mind and Body Balance.

Clients must register interest in the classes by completing the appropriate online contact form (see relevant web page for either Puppy Socialisation or Puppy Life Skills classes) and send proof of age, ownership and vaccination status of the puppy they wish to attend the class. They will then be sent an invitation to the next available class and must pay the total fee (see Prices) for the class to secure that place. If the fee hasn’t been paid by 48 hours after being invited to attend a class then the place will be offered to another client. The place in the class is only secured on receipt of payment of the class fees.

If the client fails to attend the class the fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Puppies must be under 16 weeks of age at the date of the second class in order to be eligible to attend a Puppy Socialisation class. Puppies must be under the age of six months at the date of the fourth class if they wish to attend the Puppy Life Skills class and they must have had their first vaccination before the date of the first class. Puppies do not need to have received a second vaccination before the date of the first class. If no proof of age, ownership or vaccination status of the puppy is available they cannot attend a Puppy Socialisation class and may not be eligible to attend a Puppy Life Skills class.

If a client wishes to bring a puppy that is unvaccinated, they should contact Canine Mind and Body Balance for further advice and discussion.

If Canine Mind and Body feel it necessary to cancel a class a refund will be offered to the client or they will be offered a place on the next available class.

Veterinary Physiotherapy

Clients wishing to bring an animal for Veterinary Physiotherapy treatment must book an initial Physiotherapy Assessment appointment where a schedule of further treatment sessions will be agreed. Prior to this appointment Canine Mind and Body must have received a signed referral form and a full history from the vet overseeing the treatment of that animal. Legally, treatment cannot take place without written permission from a vet in the form of a signed and completed referral form.

Follow up treatment appointments will be necessary after the initial assessment consultation. The number of appointments necessary will vary dependent on the presenting condition of the client and the treatment required.

Fees for appointments must be paid at the time of the appointment (see Prices.

Cancellation of a physiotherapy appointment must occur not less than 24 hours before the day of the appointment. A client failing to attend an appointment without formally cancelling will still be required to pay the fee for the appointment.

If Canine Mind and Body Balance feel it necessary to cancel an appointment with a client, they will be offered an alternative appointment as soon as possible.

Failure to attend follow up treatment sessions at the recommended interval will result in an ineffective or redundant treatment plan and it may be necessary to obtain another vet referral and attend another Physiotherapy Assessment appointment in order to continue treatment.

Failure by the client to implement changes or complete exercises recommended by the physiotherapist will result in either slow or non-existent improvement in the animal’s condition.

Tellington TTouch and Canine Behaviour Follow up appointments

Cancellation of a TTouch or Canine Behaviour Follow up appointment must occur not less than 24 hours before the day of the appointment. A client failing to attend an appointment without formally cancelling will still be required to pay the fee for the appointment (see Prices page).

Fees for appointments must be paid at the time of the appointment.

If Canine Mind and Body Balance feel it necessary to cancel an appointment with a client, they will be offered an alternative appointment as soon as possible.

Additional travelling costs may be necessary for home visits at a distance above a ten-mile radius of the Canine Mind and Body Balance centre. This will be made clear at the initial telephone call.

Events

Clients booking places on events at Canine Mind and Body Balance must do so via the ‘Events’ page or by contacting the centre. A place is only secured once full payment and a completed online booking form are received. This payment is non-refundable and non-transferable to other events.

Canine Mind and Body Balance reserve the right to change the venue or date and time of the event. If any of these changes occur clients will be offered a full refund if the changes cannot be accommodated by them. Clients must accept the refund at the time it is offered or accept the amendments to the details of the event and maintain the booking. If a client declines the offer of a refund and accepts the new event arrangements they cannot then ask for a refund at a later date, so clients must be certain they accept the new event arrangements fully before declining the refund.

If an event is cancelled clients will be refunded in full.

Appointments by Visiting Therapists and Clinic Days

Services offered by therapists that are not resident at Canine Mind and Body Balance (i.e., all except Best Behaviour Services) usually make their own arrangements for payment with the client and, as such, clients are advised to be guided by the Terms and Conditions of the individual therapist they have arranged the appointment with.
